If you list a tool for a short time anywhere on the net you simply won't get useful search engine recognition. By the time Google finds your tool it's gone. eBay might be a good solution for a quick sale but the results are generally pretty bad. Keep your tool on this site for a few weeks and it will be found worldwide. Guaranteed. Just google "Stanley 1" or "Mathieson plough plane" etc. and see who comes up in the first 10. It won't be eBay - quite likely it will be your tool on this site.
Don't forget to include your very best picture. Pictures sell tools. And don't worry about pricing. I set my prices around 50% or more above eBay and my tools sell. You don't have to follow my lead. You make your own price, if you want to negotiate with the potential buyer that's up to you.
*) PS: my site has limited storage space and I have limited spare time. I don't expect a huge rush but one never knows. If any of my limits are exceeded I will have to review one or all of my listing policies.
Give it a shot. It's a great concept if you're not in a hurry!
