Goldenberg French slater's hammer and stake. One of the prongs of the nail
puller on the hammer is missing and there is an age crack in the wooden handle.
The stake seems pretty small on top but I guess it was either made that way or
altered for a specific purpose. A bit over-cleaned for my liking but nothing
time won't heal. In use the slate is placed on the stake and the bevelled edge
of the hammer is used to trim it to size. Hammers come in left - and right hand
versions. If you want to see a good clip about how to use a slater's hammer and
stake here is the

Where were you in 1775? This broad or squaring axe was in a German smithy
waiting for the final touches before the handover to the purchaser. I believe
the round mark in the centre is the maker's mark, the date with the initials
would have been added for the new owner - maybe even a present for a guild
member. Overall in very good condition without pitting but there is an obvious
chip and a small tear on the shoulder. A$ 220 postage Australia included

Germanic 1 1/2" mortising axe aka as Stossaxt (push-axe). As they name implies,
this tool is used like a large slick i.e. pushed. The bit at the end is hollow
like the eye of an axe but there is no wood inserted - this is the actual
handle. There is a maker's mark in the middle, it looks like a wagon wheel. A$

This is a great lump of soft, very fine grit natural stone with dark speckled
brown colour. It's marked on the side, I think F Keil and some numbers. Looks
and feels just like a razor hone, just as fine but softer. I believe this would
be the perfect hone for an axe, adze or hatchet. 5 1/2" x 2" x 1 1/8". A$

Smith's double sided Arkansas combination oil stone, double sided, soft gray and

Vintage American Double Grit emery oil stone for carpenters. 170mm x 50 mm x
20mm. I would call the grit coarse and not so coarse. I'm not
exactly an expert on manufacturing techniques but I believe this stone qualifies
as a natural stone. The two layers are red and dark grey. Coarse grit like this
would be ideal for shaping edge tools before honing them with a finer stone. A$

This is a rare Pat Sept 11, 1888 John H. Hebblethwaite combination hammer,
wrench and staple puller with a new Vaughan wood handle. The maker's mark and
emblem on the side are very faint. The claw and steps are in good condition, the
head surface has some earl steel fatigue failure chips. The hammer would be used
on its side as an open end wrench for square nuts. One of the two claws has a
pointed edge for removal of staples. I don't know why on earth the former owner
put a good but new wood handle in this very old hammer, luckily it's not the
best fit and it should come out without any problem. $ 175 postage Australia
included

Unmarked farrier's hammer with very nice hickory handle, just one small nick at
