Atkins No 9 cross cut saw raker/jointer/setting tool with partial box (sleeve only) I don't have instructions for the Atkins saw tool but I include the 4 page instructions for an identical tool. VG A$ 65 postage Australia included

1893 patent saw file holder (saw jointer). This is one of the better examples I have come across. It can take fairly big files just over 1 inch wide and has a fence that allows the use on any kind of saw, including the fattest cross cuts. A$ 75 postage Australia included

4" file holder (saw jointer) to even out saw blades before re-cutting the teeth. No maker's mark. A$ 30  postage Australia included

Good pair of Eclipse saw sets. Small one for hand saws, large one for radial saws. Both come with instructions. A$ 65 postage Australia included

Somax 250 saw set made in Japan. Saw set VG, box ok. A$ 25 postage Australia included

Pair of very old crosscut saw handles made from wood and metal. Both of them have the two slots for a 90 degree position change, see picture 2. However the short one has a lever-type adjuster, a feature I have not seen before. My guess is it allowed for a quicker turning when the position was changed and maybe the lever acted as a guard at the same time. I left them in as found condition, dirt, rust and all. The shorter one is 270mm long, the loner one 340 mm. I can't see any maker's markings but they might be there under the rust, I'm quite sure these are factory made handles. A$ 90 postage Australia included

Boxwood tool handle with 6 bits. No maker's mark. No cracks but one small patch of bruising near the lid. Very nice honey-coloured old boxwood with brass chuck. A$ 35 postage Australia included

Beech tool holder/pad with 20 bits! Very nice patina, no chips or cracks. Unusual alligator type chuck, tightens as you twist it. A$ 45 postage Australia included

Millers Falls No 29 automatic screwdriver with 4 bits in the original box. A$ 50 postage Australia included

VG Yankee No 41 push drill with 8 bits in handle. A$ 45 postage Australia included  sorry, SOLD

Two cooper's bung hole reamers or bung hole borers. For bung holes from 1/2 - 1 1/4" and 1 to 2 inches respectively. The smaller one is not marked, the larger one is made by ENTERPRISE MFG. A$ 110 postage Australia included

Stanley No 2 Pat 1867 Excelsior tool handle with one bit. A$ 90 postage Australia included

Plated beech brace with button chuck by Ash. Probably was cleaned a very long time ago. Good except for a couple of cracks on the head, see picture 5. A$ 145 postage Australia included

Plated beech brace marked Thos Ibbotson, Makers, Sheffield. Head has some slack but no major chips or cracks. Brass plates are ok, wood has a lot of character, translated into worm holes and cracks. Still, a pretty good looking old tool and priced accordingly. A$ 110 postage Australia included

Plated beech brace by Marples. Some slack in head and minor nicks and small age cracks but overall VG. A$ 260 postage Australia included sorry, SOLD

Early European brace with long neck and large thumb screw chuck. Ball handle has an old split and old repair. A$ 50 postage Australia included.

"Ultimatum" brass framed ebony brace with a roll of bits that actually fit! This is one of the nicest models I've come across in many years. Just a couple of minor chips on the underside of the head otherwise simply stunning. A$ 750 postage Australia included.

Outstanding  early European piano maker's brace from the mid 1700s. Without doubt one of the best pieces I've come across. Note the screw-pod chuck, a feature I haven't seen before. There is no bit in it but it will take a later Continental type bit with a flat tang.  This is a fairly large, chunky tool, 17" long and 2" thick at the shoulder. If you look closely you might see that there are traces of varnish on parts of the brace. It was a display piece in a private museum and whoever preserved it 50 or so years ago didn't do a very good job. I won't touch it but if I was a collector instead of a dealer I certainly would restore it to all its former glory. You'll love this one. A$ 450 postage Australia included.

3/4" over 1' screwbox with nice patina. German maker's mark. A$ 45 postage Australia included

Stanley 49 bit gauge, most plating intact. A$ 40 postage Australia included

Stanley 49 bit gauge with black WW2 finish. VG A$ 40 postage Australia included

Set of Irwin type auger bits in the original, two-tiered wooden box. Maker: Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. Optically perfect but 3 of the bits are by other makers. A$ 175 postage Australia included

2" spoke pointer by James Swan. Marked J S & Co 1 x on side. I don't know why the cutter is shaped this way, maybe somebody had a special job that required a curved edge. A$ 45 postage Australia included

Brace drill bit attachment with ratcheting chuck. I have never seen one before - my guess is that it was used to upgrade the older type braces that didn't have a ratcheting chuck.7 1/4" long. A$ 80 postage Australia included.

Miller Falls chain drill bit in working order. A$ 55 postage Australia included
